Finishing up the BJP08

I have finally finished my August page, the last for BJP08. What I find rather amusing is that it was the first page that I ever started. I actually did the first stitch in July 2008, but kept putting it down to do other things.

The whole point to this page was texture. It's rather monochromatic, but not entirely. It is subtle, and it portrays what I had intended for the project. I wanted to explore a variety of techniques, and improve on my skills in bead embroidery, and this page certainly pushed my imagination and definitely tried my patience.

I am reasonably happy with the result, and thrilled that it's done!

I am so excited to get to work on January for BJP 2010!

Its a beautiful piece. Isn't it amazing how much movement in a piece with manuvering path and bead size.

Merry Christmas.

Joanna - I am sorry that you had such a difficult year. Your bjp's are filled with beauty and pain and really resonate with what you wrote. I hope 2010 is a better year and I look forward to seeing your creativity through your beads.

As I look out my window this morning and see my back yard so white with snow and the trees all frosted white I can see your beautiful piece hanging on one the lower branches picking up the crystal colors from the sun shinning on it. Good job girl!!!! Have enjoyed all your pieces and looking forward to next year's beading journal. Lise

Love the contrast with the buttons. It's neat to see them layered!
