BJP - September page

Well, it's done.

I must admit I haven't trimmed it yet, but I'm not sure I'm how I'm going to end up mounting my pages yet, so I want to leave extra around until I do.

The original digital photo, prior to beading:

So I decided to only bead the needles from the front two trees, so the beading would completely overwhelm the photo, and for the sake of expediency.

Now, what to do for October...

This is wonderful. I love the texture you created with the beads. The scene is framed perfectly.

The technique you employed with those bugle beads is wonderful! This turned out beautifully.

Thank you all for the encouragement!

The bugle part was mostly easy, since it is composed of single bugles being stitched in place, but the one thing I had to remember was to keep changing the orientation so that they would look like they were coming off different branches. It's mostly a matter of making sure you stop every few minutes to look at what you've already done, so that what comes next balances it all.

Interesting to me that in the photo I notice the tall building and the building on the other side of the lake... it's about buildings. But in your beautifully beaded version, I notice the foreground, the trees, the texture of nature. Very beautiful! I think you're smart to wait to finish the pieces until you have a very clear idea of what you want to do with them. Last year I jumped the gun and was stuck with some decisions I really wanted to change. This year, I'm doing like you are... WAITING! Robin A.

I really like how you combined the beads with the photo. It adds so much to the photo.
